Another wonderful week in Room 212! We have experienced a lot of illness this week, and missed various friends throughout the week. Please continue to remind your children of healthy practices such as washing their hands in warm soapy water and covering their coughs. We want to try to keep us all as healthy as possible!
Don't forget to register your child for the UPES Learning Fair in February, deadline for registration is January 29th. The UPES learning fair is an exhibition that showcase the variety of student interests on topics including science, history, music, animals and more! Projects are displayed in a format of the student’s choice and design. Use of the school Media Center for research is encouraged, but projects are completed outside of school. This is always an excellent opportunity for students to research a passion project and use their creativity to demonstrate what they've learned. Yearbook orders have gone home. If purchasing a yearbook is a financial burden for your family, but you'd like your child to have one. Please reach out to Mrs. Cantie, our school social worker, as she can assist with funding. [email protected] Reading: Reading groups were in full effect this week. We began new books, studied long a and o vowel sounds, and discussed point of view. Math: Unit 3 Shapes and Measurement This week we reviewed our Unit 3 learning and took the test. This will be coming home next week; please sign and return it. Social Studies Students continued learning about the Olympic torch this week and the history of the Olympics. Students used our MakerSpace to create their very own Olympic torch! We are excited to continue this unit in collaboration with Mrs. Smith's class as we track an assigned country's medals, and learn about that country!
